Don't MISS the Fabulous Film Festival: The countdown has begun! There are two weeks left to submit videos for the LASD Student Film Festival. The submission window closes on Friday, March 28th. The festival will take place on May 9th from 4-6pm in the Covington multi; we are hoping to showcase many original entries!
FILM FESTIVAL CATEGORIES: (EDUCATIONAL, MUSIC VIDEOS, ANIMATION/CLAYMATION, COMEDY, STORY, CLASS COLLABORATION)
EACH CATEGORY WILL BE JUDGED BY GRADE LEVEL:

Parking Lot Reminders: By popular request, here is a reminder about Parking Lot Safety:
Thank you ahead of time for remembering the following when dropping off or picking up your children:
Do not use your cell phone while driving in the school parking lot.
If driving through the pick up lane, pull as far forward as possible and do not leave your car. Or park your car in a space and walk over with your children.
Do not pick up or drop off children from the middle of the parking lot.
Once you drop off your children, please proceed out of the parking lot.
YEARBOOK INFORMATION: We need your photos! If you have pictures that you would like to share for the yearbook, please email, Christine Wedner, cwedner@mac.com. An invitation to the DropBox folder created will be sent to you and will allow you to upload photos to your child's class folder.

Minimum Day March 20th: Remember that our next Minimum Day is Thursday March 20th. All Kinders attend in the morning with dismissal at 11:35am, and dismissal for 1-6th grades is at 12:15pm. The PTA is once again offering some minimum day activities that you can sign your child up to attend. Costs and more information available here:

New Afterschool Class, Engineering with Legos for grades 2-5 starts April 15th. Have your child become a Play-Well Engineer! Fifth Grade Junior Scouts Food Drive - March 10th-20th
The Covington Fifth Grade Junior Scouts Troop 61100 is holding their third annual Food Drive from March 10th-20th. All donations will be distributed to a food bank operated by InnVision Peninsula Programs, which provides food, showers, clothing, emergency assistance, medical care, and counseling to those in need in our communities in Santa Clara County and San Mateo County. Items in demand: canned meat, canned tuna, meals and soups in a can, canned beans/legumes and powdered milk. Items not accepted: baby food, canned tomatoes, items past their due date or already opened, and perishable items. Troop 61100 will host an ice cream party for the classroom collecting the most donations. Please place your donations in the box in your classroom. Thanks for your support!
