Dear Covington Community, Winter Concert is Thursday!! You are cordially invited to the upper grade Winter Concert this Thursday at 1:00pm in the multi. Our 4th, 5th and 6th graders will entertain us with a collection of seasonal music to highlight their learning from our district provided music program. They will be led under the direction of our fabulous music team! The music program, and the performance, are made possible by your generous donations to Los Altos Education Fund (LAEF). Without your generous donations to LAEF, this program wouldn’t be possible. Thank you (on behalf of your kids) for investing in this aspect of ‘rounding’ their education. Research shows the many ways that music activates the brain; and students also learn valuable teamwork, perseverance and performance skills! So, thank you & I hope to see you Thursday afternoon! Ability Awareness Week is Coming!! We Need You! Ability Awareness Week is January 3rd-6th. This powerful and impactful week will help Covington students grow empathy and compassion for those with physical and learning challenges. Through a series of experiential activities, students get a sense of what it is like to experience challenges. Reflective discussions after each activity help students understand that we all face challenges and empathy is sparked- for ALL students. This incredible experience can only take place through the use of parent volunteers. We are still looking for a few parents to help out. A quick training is provided on Tuesday, Dec. 13th at either 8:45am or 7:00pm. Please fill out this form if you can assist us! Thanks for all you do for the Covington community!
