Dear Covington Families & Community Members, We have a lot of events coming up at the end of the year so please read below!! Congratulations to our 6th grade girls for participating in the LASD basketball tournament. Our girls showed true Coyote spirit by playing hard and unselfishly and supporting one another. Way to go, girls! The 6th grade boys’ basketball tournament will be this Friday.

Think Green Initiative |

Think Green as you Spring Clean! As you may know, Covington has moved more fully toward becoming a “Greener” school. We have been increasing our “green education” and training our students how to understand and separate compost, recycle and trash items. We emphasize this throughout the day, but especially at lunch.
In an effort to broaden our approach and to model for our students, Covington is collecting gently used school supplies to demonstrate to students the impact of recycle and reuse on communities. We will organize and put together the supplies to push out where needed in the community. So, as you do your spring cleaning, think Green! We are collecting:

Field Day - Volunteers Needed! |

FIELD DAY 2016 is FRIDAY, JUNE 3rd! Now that the Junior Olympics are over, it's almost time for Field Day 2016! On Friday, June 3rd from 10:00 - 12:00, all Covington students will be participating in Field Day. Field Day is a fun filled event where all students participate in games (for example: bowling, "pin the nose on the coyote", seed spitting, etc.), face painting and a blow-up obstacle course. We have food, music, lots of water, and a "6th grade vs teachers" volleyball game. If you haven't had much of a chance to volunteer this year, this is the event for you! We need parent volunteers at each game, for face painting, and for serving snacks. We need your help to make it a success. Volunteer hours are from 9:30 to noon. Medication Pick Up: Medications will be available for pick up from June 8th 2016 (last day of school) to June 14th 2016. We cannot store medications over the summer. If you are leaving before school ends, please pick up medications early. An Adult must pick up the medication. |

Join us for a ladies only get together to sip on wine and swap your new or pre-loved clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories that you no longer need (but are in good condition) and swap them for other great items. Bring your fashionable items to swap and leave your inhibitions behind! We’ll supply yummy eats and wine to sip! xxx |

Bake Sale! Girl Scout Troop 61164 will have a Bake Sale this Thursday, May 19th after school in front of the Multi. Each item will be $1 and all proceeds will be donated to Rabbit Haven, an organization that rescues, provides medical care, and re-homes bunnies. This is not a Stay and Play. Thank you for supporting Covington's 4th and 5th grade Girl Scouts! |

CSTEM Showcase is sponsored by LAEF LAEF is proud to sponsor the Los Altos School District CSTEM Showcase on Thursday, May 19th from 3:15 to 5:00 pm in the Almond Elementary Multi. Bring your family to play games and explore projects created from all seven elementary schools. As a result of their exposure to computer science, 6th-grade students are ready to integrate coding in other academic areas and to take the new CS Elective in Jr. High, another step in expanding the CSTEM program to TK-8. To learn more, go to LAEFOnline.org. Fulfill your pledge to LAEF or donate before June 8th With a month left of school, now is the time to donate to LAEF. There are 100 families who pledged a total of $92,467 during our annual phonathon, and we’re counting on you to fulfill your pledge by June 8th to meet our $3.5M goal.
